These steel cylinders may be driven into the ground with or without the base plate depending on site specific load capacities. Typically the installation of a base plate allows the pipe to be filled with concrete, once driven, allowing greater load capacities. Various equipment and technology allows piling to be driven, even in low headroom conditions.
